Interviewing and Filming for CRAY

We had an amazing time filming and interviewing academics in London. Our first visit was to Goldsmiths University where we were preparing to ask questions on Old English. Disappointingly the interviewee had put the wrong date in her diary. We were disappointed as this was to be our first interview but we were ready for the next big journey up to central London to the British Museum.
Matt and Sav from Digital Works helped us with the sound and camera and to perfect our interview technique, We didn't realise there was so much in it.
At the British Museum we were met by Kate Morton who is the illustrator for the BM. She took us inside and we then were able to interview Dr L Webster-Formerly Senior Curator of the British and Irish  Early Medieval collections at the British Museum, and Head of the former Department of Prehistory and Europe there. Leslie is now retired but met with us and shared her amazing knowledge.
It was a brilliant interview and we even got to see a replica of the Franks Chest and then the real one in the museum itself. We were very lucky to be able to be taken behind the scenes at the British Museum.
After this we went on to Senet House, University of London to meet Dr Brown. She was really enthusiastic and made everything so easy for us to understand. She talked about Old English, Beowulf and if the figures of Hengest and Horsa were real or just symbolic. It was such a good interview that we didn't want to stop!
We had such a great day we didn't want it to stop!
